Ramin wrote his first chatbot at age 12 and was one of the first to study Natural Language Processing in Germany.
He founded ExB Labs, raised 50m € and has 25 years experience as entrepreneur.
Exit to Nokia: In 2011, ExB completed a software and patent sale to Nokia, whose technologies were deployed on mobile devices worldwide.
Ramin then refocussed ExB on AI for medical data spaces, clinical documentation, insurance processes, and pharmaceuticals. His team won international medical AI competitions (ISBI, MICCAI), participated in the federally funded AIQNET project, and worked with partners including Charité, B. Braun, Biotronik, and Allianz.
In 2024 Ramin changed his role from CEO to Chairman of the Board at ExB (which moved on to logistics in the meantime), he went on to found HALBZEIT AI, an expert funding platform for HealthTech Startups.
With his co-founder Luisa Wasilewski, Ramin strongly believes that health startups are the single most vital engine of needed change in health. But for them to succeed, they must be connected to the right capital, expertise, and the market.
At HALBZEIT, investors are not just financiers, but peers—physicians, medtech engineers, pharma leaders, and health managers—who bring deep system understanding with their capital.
Ramin has 20+ international patents pending or granted, published 18 peer reviewed scientific papers, and contributed chapters to four books.
He earned his PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience, did eight years of university research on the human brain processing language.
Since 2025, Ramin is Honorary Professor for Artificial Intelligence at the Medical Section at the University of Lübeck
