Dr. Michael Drass embarked on his journey in the field of Civil Engineering at TU Darmstadt, where he pursued and completed his doctorate from 2014 to 2019. His research was dedicated to the innovative use of glass in construction and the integration of mathematical optimization in material modeling.
After earning his PhD, Dr. Drass remained at TU Darmstadt as a Post-Doc until 2021. During this time, he led a research group focused on leveraging Artificial Intelligence for bridge maintenance at Deutsche Bahn, aiming to improve infrastructure resilience through advanced technology.
Dr. Michael Drass has made significant strides in his professional career at Deutsche Bahn. Beginning in 2021, he took on the role of AI Development Manager, where he demonstrated exceptional skills and leadership. By the end of 2023, his achievements and expertise were recognized with a promotion to the central role of Chief Expert AI. In this position, he has continued to drive forward the development and application of artificial intelligence within the organization, solidifying his status as a key figure in the field at Deutsche Bahn.
