Mario Brandenburg

Mario Brandenburg holds a master’s degree in business informatics. He was recruited in 2009 by Europe’s largest software company, SAP SE, where he worked until 2017, first in various positions ranging from Development to Sales. In 2017, he became a member of the German Bundestag for the Liberal Democrats (FDP). He served as spokesman for research, technology and innovation and was a member of the Enquete Committee on Artificial Intelligence. From July 2022 to November 2024, he served as Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister of Education and Research. He used his political cooling-off period to found his own company, BRAINdenburg GmbH. In 2026, the circle closes with his return to SAP, joining the CTO’s team as Senior Director Research & Innovation Strategy to shape SAP’s innovation agenda.
