He started practicing and studying Okinawa Goju-Ryu Karate Do in 1984 in IOGKF, founded by Master Morio Higaonna, 10th Dan. He was over ten years President of the Board of Directors of AKDK, an Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate Do Association in Portugal, member of GKI, an international federation led by Sensei James Rosseau, 9th Dan and also held the role of Adviser to the President of FNK-P, the National Karate Federation Portugal.
