Prof. Dr. Christoph von der Malsburg

After promoting in elementary particle physics, Christoph von der Malsburg developed theories of neural self-organization in the development and function of the visual system in a Max Planck Institute in Göttingen. He then held a double appointment at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles and at Ruhr-University in Bochum, where he became known for his Dynamic Link Architecture of Brain Function. He co-founded two companies to bring his ideas to life. He is now Fellow Emeritus at the Frankfurt Institute for Advanced Studies. He is affiliated with the Institute for Neuroinformatics at UZH/ETH Zurich and with the Center for AI of ZHAW in Winterthur.
