Marc Karahan

Program Director | KI Park

Bold ideas that challenge the status quo and lead the change for a better world have always inspired me. Thus, six years ago, I quit my corporate job to learn about innovation and social change. Ever since my interest in start-ups grew shaped by my experiences as a Master’s student in Economics of Innovation & Growth at KTH Stockholm and my work in Business Development and Venture Capital Investments.

Today, I am continuing my journey at Venture Development & Sustainability Lead at KI Park and PhD candidate at TU Berlin. I found my passion for start-ups that combine business success with sustainable impact. In particular, I developed a keen interest in tech-based impact start-ups, given my background in IT project management and my experiences at Fraunhofer IAO and the Centre for Entrepreneurship.

My current research and work focus on entrepreneurial responses to global challenges. At KI Park, I nurture the AI ecosystem by connecting entrepreneurs with resources, knowledge and network for boosting AI innovations. At TU Berlin, I explore impact-driven entrepreneurship focusing on incubators and accelerators. More specifically, I investigate the needs of impact entrepreneurs and how start-up support organizations can nurture them best.

As part of my engagements, I develop new workshop concepts and tools for fostering sustainable business opportunities. Moreover, I consult organizations about integrating sustainable development as a central mission and designing impactful start-up support programs. I also coach start-ups, host workshops, speak at conferences, and give lectures.

I believe that meaningful change requires bold ideas and working together. Therefore, I am happy to connect with you and exchange our ideas.
