Member of the German Bundestag
Andreas Steier (47) has been a member of the German Bundestag since 2017 and, as a directly elected member of parliament, represents the interests of the People in Trier and Trier-Saarburg. His political work is all about education and research, small and medium-sized businesses and a stronger Europe. He is a full member of the Committee on Education, Research and Technology Assessment and substitute on the Committee on Economic and Energy, and Committee on Petitions. Andreas Steier is the rapporteur for Artificial Intelligence, Mobility Research and the promotion of non-university research. In addition, he has been a member of the Trier-Saarburg District Council since 2004 and Chairman of the MIT District Association Trier and Trier-Saarburg. Prior to his mandate in the Bundestag, the trained mechanical engineer (Diplom-Ingenieur) worked as a developer of sensor technologies and holds several patents. Andreas Steier lives with his family in Pellingen.
