The ubiquity of artificial intelligence in our lives has raised fundamental unanswered questions about our relationship with increasingly intelligent machines and the impact on society. Furthermore, today’s application of AI already leads to ethical challenges regarding transparency and fairness of algorithmic decisions with consequences on our lives. In this session we provide an overview about core principles for a responsible approach to applying artificial intelligence. We will showcase tools that enable deeper understanding of models by using interpretability and fairness algorithms to analyze models and find and mitigate issues. Finally, we will highlight key developments in the area of responsible AI.
