AI for robots
Accelerated Dynamics is a robotics startup developing AI based software for mission management of fleets of robots. Our aim is to the make the use of robots as easy as playing a computer game. As a first point of entry, we have chosen to develop our software for mission management of fleets of drones. Drone technology has limitless applications in numerous industries, but operating drones is expensive due to the requirement of a skilled human pilot. It seems strange that in an age of driverless cars and AR that drones are being manually operated when in fact they can be collaborating with other machines on the ground, underwater, in the air to achieve things that are beyond human capacity or extremely dangerous for a human to undertake. Accelerated Dynamics solves this with software that enables decision making capability for drone fleets. Drone technology has been limited to military use but it is so much broader than that. Our software will enable humanitarian relief, border control and security services to do their jobs more effectively.
Mantas, CEO, is a Robotics Engineer with a Masters degree in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence from Kings College London. His areas of expertise are Artificial Intelligence, Scheduling and Planning and Robot Operating System, which is the software platform that we use in our technology. Besides, his Masters thesis at KCL, titled, “Intelligent Planning for Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Systems” integrated cutting edge A.I. planning techniques into Robot Operating System to simulate fully autonomous UAV behavior in mission critical scenarios.
Umar, CTO, has a Masters degree in Robotics, Systems and Control from ETH Zurich. Umar has worked with some of the top researchers in the field of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, such as Rolf Pfeifer and Rafaello D’Andrea, during his stay at ETH Zurich and has authored research papers on topics such as autonomous wheelchairs and soft sensors. He has extensive interdisciplinary knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering from his Bachelors degree in Mechatronics and has expertise in the fields of Systems Engineering and Control Systems.
